Cite-While-You-Write
Insert citations while you write your manuscript
Open Word
If you have EndNote Desktop installed, look for the EndNote tab in your Word document
In the fourth box, click on Preferences
Then choose Application
Change EndNote to EndNote Online
You may have to login (again) to EndNote Online
The EndNote portion of the Word ribbon will now read EndNote Online
Use Insert Citations to locate references from your EndNote Online.
In the word document, go to the EndNote tab
From the EndNote options, choose Insert Citations
Use find to to find the reference you want to insert
Click on it (highlight)
Then use Insert (at the bottom of the frame)
Your reference will appear in the text nd a bibliography will build below it
Example:
When it comes to avatars (Boies, 1983), it isn’t always in the movies.
Boies, J. J. (1983). The lost domain : avatars of the earthly paradise in western literature. Lanham, MD: University Press of America.
Select your style
Open the Styles drop-down menu
The styles you see are your "favorites"
Use Select Another Style to see oyher styles
If you want to use one, transfer it to your list of favorites
Then set your style to it
