  • Description: Vinyl long-playing sound recordings in the Alvin M. Ehret Vocal Collection.  Access to these recordings is provided through a digitized copy of the original and is limited to online listening.

  • Location: These recordings can be heard using the Variations system at any of the workstations found on the first and third floors of the Music Library.

  • How to access:
    • Use IUCAT to find the call number of the item you wish to listen to. If you notice a URL that looks something like this -- http://www.music.indiana.edu/cgi-bin/var/access?ABD4538 -- you will be able to access the recording using the Variations system in the Music Library.
    • If the item is not available, send an email to digitize[at]indiana.edu with your name, the call number, and the IUCAT location and request that the item be digitized.
    • The item will be digitized as soon as possible (depending upon the number of requests ahead of yours). You will be notified by email when your request is ready to use.
    • Use Locating and Listening to Sound Recordings Online if you need assistance in finding your recording and listening to it in the library.
