The Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA) libraries have reached a three-year Publish and Read Agreement with the Biochemical Society, one more step in collective action toward the Big Collection. This agreement runs through December 31, 2026. Under this agreement, Indiana University Bloomington authors can publish open access at no charge.
The agreement includes full access to read all Biochemical Society journals (published by the Society’s publishing arm, Portland Press).
The deal covers all papers and article types which are published by default under a CC BY licence at nocost to you. It covers the entire portfolio of Biochemical Society research and review journals, including five subscription and two fully OA journals (Bioscience Reports and Neuronal Signaling).
To qualify for no-cost OA publication, the article must be accepted between November 8, 2023 and December 31, 2026 and have a responsible corresponding author from a participating BTAA institution.
You must identify yourself as affiliated with Indiana University Bloomington and use your institutional email address as part of the publishing workflow. You must be the corresponding author for the article to be eligible.
You can still publish your article, even if you do not wish to use this open access option. You can opt-out of the agreement if you wish.
