What Is IUScholarWorks?

IUScholarWorks is an institutional repository maintained by IU Libraries for the purpose of disseminating and preserving the intellectual and creative output of Indiana University scholars. Members of the IU community may use IUScholarWorks to make their scholarly research materials freely available to the world at a stable URL with the assurance that their work will be maintained and accessible over the long term.

The Benefits of IUScholarWorks

Works within the IUScholarWorks have a higher algorithmic ranking than works on a personal page, thus potentially increasing citation impact

When you deposit a work, you will enter metadata that IUScholarWorks makes visible to academic search engines like Google Scholar. The full text of papers is also available to indexing by search engines.

IU Libraries will ensure that all works in the repository remain available at a stable, permanent URL. The Libraries are committed to preserving all items in IUScholarWorks in perpetuity - even if you leave the institution.

Works deposited in IUScholarWorks today can be automatically made Open Access at a later date. This feature can be used when journals request a period between an article's publication and the date it can become freely available.

What Will I Find in IUScholarWorks?

IUScholarWorks is divided into collections connected to specific departments, IU organizations, and events sponsored by IU affiliates. Each organization makes decisions about the types of collections it will preserve. Often these are articles and educational resources authored by its faculty and media and proceedings from its conferences.
