State and Local
State and local information is just as important as federal documents. Each state and town reacts differently to federal actions and cultural changes and it is valuable to gain their perspective. Bloomington and Monroe county publish most of their current documents online, but you can find older materials in our collection as well. Look for reports, agendas, and meeting packets of boards and commissions to see what's going on in local government.

"The mission of the Bloomington/Monroe County Human Rights Commission is to enforce the Bloomington/Monroe County Human Rights Ordinance in a fair and timely manner, to educate community members about their rights and responsibilities under various civil rights laws and to advocate for changes in policies and law."
