Criminology and Criminal Justice Databases

These databases contain a wide variety of research related to criminology and criminal justice. Most of the content in the databases consists of peer-reviewed journal articles, but they also include books; dissertations and theses; magazines and trade publications; conference papers and proceedings; and reports from government agencies.

The Crime, Punishment, and Popular Culture, 1790 - 1920 database contains archival material related to crime, its solutions, and popular culture's response to crime. It is useful for students and researchers examining the history of criminology and criminal justice.

Related Databases

As a highly interdisciplinary field, criminal justice draws on work and ideas from other fields such as political science, psychology, sociology, education, social work, history, public health, gender studies, geography, and more. These databases may contain relevant research on topics related to criminal justice.

Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science all index research across the sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Their breadth of coverage makes them extremely useful, but depending on the topic, they can require more precise searches to return relevant results.
