IU Libraries Resources for Academic Advisors

This guide is a one-stop resource of library resources for academic advisors.

Library Events and News

The Libraries host a number of events, curricular and co-curricular, throughout the year that allow students to connect with Libraries' services and programming, other campus units, fellow students, and more.

Some regular events that occur throughout the academic year include:

DeStress Fest: Sponsored by the IU Libraries and partners from the IU Health Center’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Health and Wellness Education, and Disability Services for Students, DeStress Fest offers students a chance to relax at the most stressful part of the semester. Students will have the opportunity to meet with CAPS professionals for confidential mood screenings, consultations, and, if needed, referrals for follow-up services at the CAPS office. All students are entitled to two appointments at CAPS, which their student fees cover. DeStress Fest typically occurs during the Fall and Spring semesters.

Herman B House Party: Held annually at the Herman B Wells Library during IU's Welcome Week, IU’s largest library transforms from a popular study spot into a mega-hangout stocked with food, prizes, fun and games! Join the Libraries and Office of First Year Experience for a great start to the academic year! Students come to dance to the DJ's music, grab some pizza, watch the IU break dance team, play traditional tailgating games, and more, all while WIUX spins the hits.
