Research Desk Services

A librarian helps a student with research.

Located in the Wells Library Learning Commons (first floor of the West Tower), the Research Desk helps students at any stage of their research process. Research Assistants are can help students across disciplines:

  • Identify and develop research questions
  • Create search strategies
  • Identify information needs
  • Search library databases and resources
  • Evaluate information

The desk is open Sunday-Friday from 12pm-5pm. 

Scheduled consultations can be made up to 24 hours in advance and scheduled online. Drop-in help is also available when the desk is open.

    • Many IU Libraries subject librarians hold advanced degrees in their disciplines and can help students with locating subject specific resources.
