The best way to find journal articles is by using Databases and Indexes.
The best databases for music are: RILM, JSTOR, Music Periodicals Index, and Google Scholar

- Performing Arts Periodicals DatabaseCovers the arts and entertainment industry, including dance, film, television, drama, theatre, stagecraft, musical theatre, broadcast, circus, comedy, storytelling, opera, pantomime, puppetry, magic, and more.
