Our Pedagogies, Our Selves: Culturally Informed and Responsive Practice

Materials and resources from the pre-conference workshop from the Innovative Library Classroom (TILC) conference

Overview / Narrative

Welcome!

This guide is a supplemental resource to the 2023 The Innovative Library Classroom (TILC) "Our Pedagogies, Our Selves: Culturally Informed and Responsive Practice" pre-workshop conference held on the campus of the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA, June 1-2, 2023.

In this presentation, Presenters Jacqueline Huddle, nicholae cline, and Monique Threatt from Indiana University - Bloomington addressed three different perspectives to answering the question, "how do our cultures, backgrounds, and experiences inform our pedagogy?" through a critically reflective pedagogical lens. We shared our own experiences while also cultivating a shared learning space through interactive activities. We hope you all walked away with tangible examples of reflective teaching practices and related resources.

In this guide, you'll find a variety of resources to complement the workshop, including our presentation slides and activity handouts, a link to the interactive Padlet we used, and further reading and resources for you to deepen your understanding of the topics we discussed together.

If you have any questions for us, don't hesitate to reach out! Our contact information is on the left-hand side of this guide.
