It is engaged in innovative research on the problem of political violence within the structural context of the dynamic global system, that is, global systems analysis. The Feinstein International Center | Tufts University Conflict and its Impact on Civilians engages in research involving conflict analysis, stabilization, transition, conflict mitigation, protection, and peacebuilding andaim to improve policies and interventions that support stabilization and transitions from war to peace, working closely with survivors and at-risk populations.

The Peace History Society was founded in 1964 to encourage, and coordinate national and international scholarly work to explore and articulate the conditions and causes of peace and war, and to communicate the findings of scholarly work to the public.

The Peace Pledge Union is a pacifist campaigning organisation. They have been promoting pacifism since 1934, in alliance with other pacifists around the world. They also work with other peace and human rights campaigners.

As part of peacekeeping efforts, stability operations—post-conflict military efforts to bring peace and security to a region or country—represent an ongoing challenge for both military planners and civilian policymakers. RAND research has provided effective strategic recommendations in many such operations, helping those involved in unified stabilization, peacekeeping and security, transition, and reconstruction.
