Preservation Overview
As you finish your project, consider moving the data to stable storage. While the data will require ongoing care to remain usable, there are a few things you can do to ensure the long-term accessibility of your data.

Consider which files you need. You will likely have many different versions—do all need to be saved, or can a select few be preserved?

Decide the best file format(s) for your project. This may be different from the format(s) you have been working with.
If your data were shared in a repository, will they preserve your data, or do you need to make a second copy specifically for preservation?
