Data storage

At Indiana University, there are many storage options, both cloud-based and networked, for your research data. There are several factors that influence which storage option you select. Things to consider: 

  • Size of the data (both individual file and overall project size) 

  • Who needs to access the data and how frequently 

  • If the data need to be computed against (such as through Big Red)  

  • If there are any sensitivity concerns (e.g., human participant data and PII)
