Data in DataCORE is stored on archival tape. Due to this, data sets must be requested before downloads are available. However, if a data set has be requested recently it will stay available for download for 72 hours. This timer is reset every time the data set is downloaded. So, you do not need to worry if you are not able to download it immediately. If you go to a data submission and scroll down towards the bottom of the screen you will find this section of information:

While it may seem intuitive to use this button further down below it will not work as intended–we are currently developing its functionality:

If you click on the select an action button you will be presented with some options. You will want to click the download option.

This will take you to a more detailed view of the data record. From here you much click the "Request file retrieval from archives" button. You can optionally supply an email address so that you will be alerted when the file is ready. Otherwise you will have to check back in to see if the file is available or not. The larger the file the longer it will take for it to become available. Users should expect at least an hour of wait time.

After a file is requested you will be presented with this alert:

Once the data is available for download you have two options. First, the detailed record view from above will show you a "download" button in place of the "retrieving requested file from archives button":

Second, you can click the download button from the select an action menu in the main data record. If the file is not ready you will be taken back to the detailed record view from the screen capture above.
