To use all features of OnePetro, users may want to create an individual login. Here are the instructions for creating an individual login (please note, the account requires revalidation every 90 days):

Step 1. Register on OnePetro (must be with iu.edu email) 

a. Click on the Register in the upper right corner of the webpage
b. Use your IU email when completing the brief form (email address and password is case sensitive) 
c. Click on the Register button. You should see Hello and your first name in your My OnePetro account.

Step 2. Domain address validation (expires every 90 days)

a. Select My Account.
b. Select “Account details” on the drop down menu.
c. Select the “Go” button under the heading Domain Validation.
d. Select the “Validate me” button.
e. You will receive an email requesting that you click on a link to confirm receipt.
 

One Mail instructions:

If you setup your OnePetro account using your @indiana.edu email address, you will need to update the address to your @iu.edu email address before December 31, 2025. See the below instructions for updating accounts.

a. Log into your account
b. Select the drop-down arrow next to your name
c. Navigate to My Profile
d. Select Edit Profile
e. Update your email to iu.edu in the email address field
f. Select Update
