Printed in collaboration with the exhibition Booknesses: Artists' Books from the Jack Ginsberg Collection" held at the University of Johannesburg Art Gallery from 25th March to 5th May 2017 and its accompanying catalogue of the same title.

Craft & Conceptual Art: Reshaping the Legacy of Artist Books uses the history of book art centers and organizations such as Center for Book Arts, Printed Matter, Franklin Furnace, Minnesota Center for Book Arts, and San Francisco Center for the Book, to demonstrate an intertwining of craft and conceptual art. The critical issues of craft theory, such as the relationship between the vernacular and the contemporary and anti-establishment and grass roots activities are shared with the book arts, an established discipline of craft arts. This exhibition will tie artist books back to craft, reshaping our understanding of the relationship between the movement craft and conceptual art. It will feature artist books at the intersection of craft and conceptual art, ambitious in both materials and concept.

Hand, Voice & Vision: Artists' Books from Women's Studio Workshop is a traveling exhibition, held at the Grolier Club and 5 other locations, Dec. 8, 2010-Winter 2013.

Queering the BibliObject presents works by contemporary lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender artists who explore the book as an object, removed from both the narrative function and cover-to-cover form of the traditional artist's book. The exhibition queries how the presence, absence, affect, and phenomenology of bibliobjects is heightened for LGBTQ individuals across cultures and chronologies, and considers how the treatment of the book as an object is a particularly queer artistic strategy.

The traveling exhibition of the Rocket Four is the result of a workshop held in Poestenkill, New York in 1997. Four presses have agreed to display their books in over fifty exhibitions in Europe, the United States, South America and Japan as a means of presenting contemporary artist books to a wider audience.

Book and paper artists have the ability to work with an enviable palette of artistic materials and techniques--including traditional handicrafts.
