After selecting and refining a topic provided by your insructor, you will conduct a three-step research and writing process.

Research & Writing Expectations

  • Research and writing are recursive processes.
  • Research first, then formulate ideas and strategies.
  • READ, READ, READ your research and your writing.
  • Consult a large number of sources, even if they do not end up in your writing/presentation.
  • Select and use sources appropriate for your audience (HR professionals) and purpose (conference presentation).
  • Synthesize information from your research in your writing by providing context and perspective; use direct quotations and paraphrasing to support these endeavors.
