EndNote 21

EndNote at Indiana University - Bloomington

Welcome to EndNote 21

EndNote is a citation management program that helps you create, collect, and manage references in what it calls a "library" -- your collection of citations. Although you may enter records manually, nearly all producers of databases support a direct export to EndNote feature which allows you to import directly into EndNote multiple citations from the results of your search simultaneously.

EndNote allows you to attach files (PDFs, JPEGs, Word docs, MPGs, Excel...) to individual bibliographic records. In that way you have your source immediately at hand with its full citation.

Some 5,000 styles are available for citing entries, from the standards (APA, MLA, Chicago) to those required by individal journals (Cell Biology).

Cite-While-You-Write feature integrates EndNote with Word and Google Docs. Using it, you can begin writing and when you wish to cite a source, choose a reference from EndNote. The reference will appear in the style you have chose in the text and in the bibliography.

EndNote is available free to the students, faculty, and staff of Indiana University - Bloomington through our site license with Clarivate Analytics
