Annual Maintainence Checklist

A LibGuide, like all online content, can get stale after so long. When a user perceives the content to be outdated either through broken links or references to years or cultural events long past, they lose trust in the rest of the content. This is why its necessary to do an annual review of all content on your LibGuides. Here are some things to check in your annual quality assurance

  • Every link goes to where you intended. URLs change and that can either kill the link or redirect the user to a page you weren't intending
  • All content is still relevant to the field
  • Check for any accessibility issues
    • All visual elements contain alternative text
    • Headings still follow hierarchical structures
    • Lists are formatted with either a bulleted list or a numbered list
