The Berbers, also known as Amazigh, are an ethnic group of people native to North Africa. Their ancestors were the pre-Arab inhabitants of North Africa. Today, they live in communities in Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Tunisia, and Mauritania. They speak various Berber languages also known as Amazigh languages or Tamazight.
IU Libraries hold 222 cataloged items in the Berber languages and around 600 items in English that pertain to their languages, history, and culture.
